In !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! post the comments about the Fiat 500 and Cavalier have such a different view on car interiors. My Citroën C6 does not have an interior release switch for the boot, I don't think many European cars do. Also when I grew up it was very normal to turn the car off, hand the key out the window and let another person open the boot. This was in everything from Opel Omegas to SEAT Marbellas.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

If the Cavalier generation that is meant is the one that was the Opel Vectra in Europe: I've never seen power windows in one of those.

This QOTD/AOTD was incredibly flawed. It literally had triple standards for what is accepted in one case and not in other. I blame this that most of the list is populated for most popular or esoteric answers. Half of the list is right the other one is pure BS. The Civic interior if little crowded is not as bad. I have driven extensively the 500 of a girlfriend of mine and I didn't find any of the problems listed as problems. The 7-Series interior is just the victim of the early 2000s when car companies didn't know how to handle all the new tech that was introduced. It is very hard to find a nice interior, that is not just the absolute basics. And for the TVR is just think they were just playing with the overall madness that this brand represented. I am sure they could make it much better, but they just said - fuck it, we will be different, for which I respect them and in no way make is bad.

Did the Greeks take the financing for your trunk releases? I don't get why the 500 would have one as a hatch, though. No hatchback I've ever owned had a trunk release. The rest of the complaints appear valid, though. They also forgot that you can't roll up both windows up or down at the same time because the buttons are too far away from each other.

My 2005 Mustang didn't have a trunk release inside either.

Thinking about it, if they had been sold in america, those 1990s french cars like my dads old Xantia would have probably been on this list, since these had some rather low tech anti-theft devices. One had to type in a safety code first before being able to start the engine. €10 that most people would have forgotten the code and bitched about it.

Down in the bottom left corner, next to the glorious manual gearleaver.

Sometimes I miss that old french shitbox....

3.0 or 2.6?

How do you like your C6 so far?

I envy you, the only reason I ended up with a C5 is that I wanted a C6 but couldn't find one around here.

The older 2.7 V6, so a bit worse fuel economy/performance than the 3.0.

When it works it is a great car. We had some initial problems that got fixed under warranty. It has been a lot better since going through Germany to drive it at speed for a bit.

But the car does have its quirks, like the cruise control not working when it is below 5-10 degrees Celsius and the maintenance costs are pretty high I guess, but having a car in a country where it was never sold originally is also a challenge.

And where might that be? I thought they sold the C6 in every country they sold C5. I even saw one in Hong Kong.

I was wondering about that as well. I never had an interiour boot release nor seen one in any car before getting my euro-Accord. I can see that with this platform also spawning an american version that they left that in there, what I DON'T understand is that is has no exteriour handle to pull. To open the boot from the outside, you always have to use the key. Plain stupid! You can unlock the car with the remote, yet there is no way to load your groceries other than using the keyhole. WTF?? I have no idea why they were so obsessed about this on the FP.

That sounds super weird, so the remote does also then not get a boot release button, you have to put the key in the back of the car and turn it to open?

Well, i'm interested to import one, the 3.0 V6 model, especially in RHD. But the quirks scares me because the nearest Citroen dealer is about 200km away, and i'm not sure they can fix the C6 since it's never sold in here..

The 3.0 does have a more complex exhaust system if I'm correct, it has an extra catalytic converter and some other filters to meet Euro 5, instead of Euro 4 on the 2.7.

As long as they fix C5s and Peugeot 407s they should be good suspension wise, it is a combination of those two. Most of the car is so over-engineered that it does seem quite easy to repair if you get the parts. On c6owners.org most of the manuals are available.

Exactly! Let me walk you through this:

- You have a shopping cart full of yummy goods and approach the vehicle. You now have only those two options to get to the trunk.

a.) Put key in keyhole on the trunklid and turn. You have a 50:50 chance of putting the key in "wrong side up" and it won't open, so you have to pull it out, twist it and push back in. The ignition doesn't do this it's only the trunk/boot that is sensitive to this.

b.) Push button on remote, open driver's door, pull interiour release on the floor.

Both options are a bit suboptimal. It's the only gripe I have with this otherwise perfect car, so I can accept this little quirk, but I would have liked to be at this meeting there they said "Yep, that's exactly how we want it to be!"

Well, they could fix C5, we got those. So that part is okay.

Interesting. My favourite thing is, it's really cheap in UK, when i found one for sale that is.

Nothing more awesome than having to type some numbers into a keypad as part of the starting procedure, makes you feel like you are in a jet or something.

Might be an American thing, yeah. My car is so American, it has two of them! One on the trailing edge of the door, accessible only when open, and another inside the center console compartment. A big ol', yellow "PUSH ME" type of affair:
